Happy Slob Painting -- My Walls Look Like Chocolate Ice Cream...

Any feedback is welcome on this blog. Just email me at christina@happyslob.com

Well, call me Martha Stewart! Or, just call me a decorating diva. I have successfully finished my first painting attempt EVER. And I'm not talking landscapes here, folks. My husband and I (I will give credit where credit is due) finished painting a bedroom a most gorgeous, yummy shade that reminds me a WHOLE LOT of melted chocolate ice cream.

Now, don't get me wrong. The room is still a disaster area. In fact, the only part that looks good are those creamy looking walls. (A shade combination of delicious latte and chocolate ice cream - I'm seriously tempted to TASTE those walls one of these days.) This weekend we're going to tidy the room up, and I'm going to let my decorating skills loose on it. Hey, don't laugh. I can - sort of - decorate.

Anyway, if you've never tried painting, I vouch for it being a lot of fun. And the results are impressive. It makes tired looking walls look fantastic and new. The sweet lady at the paint shop is now my new best friend. When, after reading the directions on the can, I asked her if I really did need to clean the walls first before painting, she quickly replied: "Why? Isn't painting what people do to COVER over the dirt?" I felt I had found another happy slob friend in her!! I had to restrain myself from hugging her.

Happy painting and have a fabulous weekend fellow slobbos,
Christina
P.S. I'll let you know the results of my decorating efforts when I'm finally finished. :) Maybe I can even post a pic or two...

P.S.II - Don't paint in really hot weather. Painting is more of a workout than you'd expect, and you'll get very cranky like I did. hehehe
