Hi everyone,
How are you guys doing? I hope you like the new format of our Happy Slob newsletter. :) I've changed format with my other newsletter too, at The Kitchen Crafts 'n' More Newsletter and it worked out so much better that I decided to give it a try for the Happy Slob newsletters too.
Today we get a great scuff removing tip from Teri, some reminders on the 3-Step Solution, and more reasons why happy slobs love vinegar SO VERY MUCH!
Hope you have a great week, all!
Christina

3 STEPS IS ALL IT TAKES!
Housecleaning in only 3 steps
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember, easy, stress-free cleaning starts with the Happy Slob's
3-Step Solution:
1. 2 fast cleaning bursts every day - budget the time you can spend -
anywhere from 5-20 minutes or more. Set it on the timer. Tidy up
as much as you can - focusing your attention on IMPACT areas (those
areas that are seen the most and used the most in your home. Kitchens,
bathrooms, and living areas are often impact areas.)
2. 1 Focus Room every day - A minimum of 10 minutes in one specific
room or area. I like to add storage areas to my focus room list
so that those nasty areas also get cleaned! (This is when I
do some de-cluttering - just one small section in the focus room.)
3. One weekly Clean-for-All - You and the family get down to
cleaning business once a week. This is where you get some of those
other cleaning tasks done. But don't worry if you can't get
everything done. Over time, and with the accumulation of your
good efforts you WILL!
These basic guidelines will help you keep your home cleaner and tidier
than ever before. It's simple, it's not intimidating and it works!
WHY HAPPY SLOBS LOVE VINEGAR
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recently, a reader named Rhonda wrote this email to me:
"I am new to your newsletter and blog. I REALLY need help in getting motivated to clean with 3 young boys to chase after. I welcome your ideas-thanks. I was reading your blog about toilet cleaning and you mentioned to clean the outside of the toilet with your Vinegar Solution. I visited your website and the 'recipe' section but didn't see one other than the one that gets rid of mold. Can you please send it to me or let me know where to find it.
Hi Rhonda!
Girl, you need all the cleaning help you can get with 3 young boys to chase around! Gracious, and I think my cats keep me busy... ;)
The Very Vinegar Cleaner is the one formula (if you can call it anything so fancy -- it's just tap water and vinegar...nothing intimidating to make!) that I use the most around my house to clean. It's great for cleaning everything from the kitchen counters to the mirrors in your bathroom. I also find it really shines up surfaces. And as I've mentioned before - the vinegar ODOR dissipates very quickly! I promise.
Just use about 1/4 of a spray bottle of vinegar, fill the rest with plain old tap water, give the mix a good shake and use! Voila! :) How easy is that?
And get those kids cleaning too! If you can turn it into a game by using a 'job jar' and lots of fun music, they might even come to enjoy it. And hey, their future wives will thank you!
Easy Scuff Remover
Teri sent in this tip:
"Hi Christina, Love the site. I'm always looking for easier ways to clean as I do it for a living. So, as you can imagine, the LAST thing I want to do when I get home from work is more cleaning. That's my biggest challenge. My favorite cleaning tip: Using a tennis ball on scuff marks. Works on all kinds of floors.You can attach one to a long pole so you don't have to bend!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THANKS FOR DRAIN CLEANER RECIPE
Amy wrote:
"You can not believe how thrilled I am with your drain cleaner recipe! I have a toilet that likes to clog. I thought baking soda and vineagar was worth a try...IT WORKED! (Plus it was fun to watch it bubble up, ha ha) Instead of running hot water down after the mixture, I just flushed twice.
Thank you soooo much! I don't like cleaning with chemicals and sometimes bleach and drano are necessary...but for now, this is GREAT!!! Thanks so much for your great tips and recipes. :) What a blessing!!
