Hi everyone,
How are all of my best Happy Slobbo pals doing today? Hope this Thursday is a great one for you. And - I hope that you're putting all of the Happy Slob Cleaning Techniques to work for you!
Are you doing at least a daily cleaning burst? If so - I'm SO proud of you! Changing our habits is incredibly hard, but once you see the benefits of doing at least one daily cleaning burst, then you'll be ready to 'graduate' to focus rooms, and more.
All of your best efforts equal some really great results. So, don't get downhearted when you feel you 'should' be doing more. Just keep working, set some reasonable goals, and be proud when you accomplish them!
Hugs to you all,
Christina

3 STEPS IS ALL IT TAKES!
Housecleaning in only 3 steps
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember, easy, stress-free cleaning starts with the Happy Slob's
3-Step Solution:
1. 2 fast cleaning bursts every day - budget the time you can spend -
anywhere from 5-20 minutes or more. Set it on the timer. Tidy up
as much as you can - focusing your attention on IMPACT areas (those
areas that are seen the most and used the most in your home. Kitchens,
bathrooms, and living areas are often impact areas.)
2. 1 Focus Room every day - A minimum of 10 minutes in one specific
room or area. I like to add storage areas to my focus room list
so that those nasty areas also get cleaned! (This is when I
do some de-cluttering - just one small section in the focus room.)
3. One weekly Clean-for-All - You and the family get down to
cleaning business once a week. This is where you get some of those
other cleaning tasks done. But don't worry if you can't get
everything done. Over time, and with the accumulation of your
good efforts you WILL!
These basic guidelines will help you keep your home cleaner and tidier
than ever before. It's simple, it's not intimidating and it works!
Earth-Friendly Swiffer Refills Alternative
The CONVENIENCE of Swiffer sweepers is undeniable, but if you'd prefer a reusable option, try these Simplee Clean Microfiber Refills instead. They work great, and you won't need to just toss them in the trash!
DEALING WITH NEVER-ENDING DUST
Tazz writes:
Welcome Back I am so glad you had such a wonderful time. You have been missed. I cant seem to work the Blog or anything else for that matter grrr. But I would like to add my biggest challenge. DUST!!!!! I live in Portland,Oregon, and it rains alot so one would think dust would be the least of my problems. Well it aint, in fact it is driving me up a wall. I am starting to wonder if I am living in the fast lane of metorite showers. I heard that is where most of the dust comes from. It seems that when they burn up in the Earths atmoshere they leave their calling cards in the form of these nice little particles.
SCRATCHED PORCELAIN SINK
Casey asks:
"Christina,
Very random question but I thought I would see if anyone else has had this
problem.
My husband's titanium wedding band is leaving thin silver marks on our white
porcelain sinks. I cannot get the marks out and have called Kohler, Porcher,
etc. I am so sad about this because the sinks are only a year old. I have
tried Magic Erasers, baking soda, and a comet paste.
I have posted this question on a couple of other blogs, but have not had any
luck. Do you have any ideas or have you heard about this happening to anyone
else?
Thanks for your help!
One Recent Review of "The Happy Slob's Guide to Housecleaning":
Christina's book is one that I've been looking for a long time.
She explains how and why the average lazy person, "slob" if you like, can make their home cleaner (and that means happier too), and keep it that way, while also having a life!
I have been involved with cleaning products on-and-off as a user, reseller and demonstrator for years. Christina's advice rings true and I was pleased to learn several tips and short-cuts which were new to me.
I highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to beat the dust bunnies and save money and time while while they do it.
