Hi everyone,

Well looky here - it's a fresh issue of the Happy Slob Gazette NEWSLETTER! :) I've become a bit hooked on the blog, but some recent feedback from readers reminded me that newsletters are what you love to read. So - here's a fresh issue full of imaginative new ways to clean and organize your homes.

Look for our new Organizing 101 section of the newsletter. You lovely Happy Slob Housecleaners asked for more organizing tips, and so that's just what you'll get! I'm always THRILLED to get ideas from you (on organizing or any other cleaning-ish type subject) at christina@happyslob.com .

Besides organizing our all-too-often cluttered homes, you'll find help in this issue on cleaning your fresh produce effectively and safely, plus tips on using micro fiber cloths, and why I love shampoo for more than just getting my hair shiny clean!

Huge hugs to you,
Christina

P.S. For the sweetest testimonial yet, read Anne's words to me at the bottom of this page. :) Who knew that the Happy Slob's Guide to Housecleaning could help SO much in a marriage???

3 STEPS IS ALL IT TAKES!

Housecleaning in only 3 steps
For full details, visit: The 3 Step Solution - the Core of
the Happy Slob's Housecleaning Plan

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember, easy, stress-free cleaning starts with the Happy Slob's 3-Step Solution:
1. 2 fast cleaning bursts every day - budget the time you can spend - anywhere from 5-20 minutes or more. Set it on the timer. Tidy up as much as you can - focusing your attention on IMPACT areas (those areas that are seen the most and used the most in your home. Kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas are often impact areas.)
2. 1 Focus Room every day - A minimum of 10 minutes in one specific room or area. I like to add storage areas to my focus room list so that those nasty areas also get cleaned! (This is when I do some de-cluttering - just one small section in the focus room.)
3. One weekly Clean-for-All - You and the family get down to cleaning business once a week. This is where you get some of those other cleaning tasks done. But don't worry if you can't get everything done. Over time, and with the accumulation of your good efforts you WILL!
These basic guidelines will help you keep your home cleaner and tidier than ever before. It's simple, it's not intimidating and it works!
ORGANIZING 101
Yes, even slobbos can get organized!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Organizing is the bane of all happy slobs, right? Wrong-o, my pals! In fact, even the most laid back of us can figure out some easy ways to de-clutter and re-organize our spaces to optimize them to the full.

This week's organizing article is: Space Surveys - Finding Storage in Even the Smallest Spaces. It will help even condo and apartment dwellers (of which I am one) find unexpected new areas of storage.

Earth-Friendly Swiffer Refills Alternative The CONVENIENCE of Swiffer sweepers is undeniable, but if you'd prefer a reusable option, try these Simplee Clean Microfiber Refills instead. They work great, and you won't need to just toss them in the trash!

READERS Q&A

If you guys have some answers to these questions, please
send them in to me at christina @ happyslob.com. :) Either
myself or one of our readers will surely be able to help...

Micro Fiber Cloths

One reader asked:
"What's the big deal about microfiber cloths? I hear about them all the time!"

Dear Reader,

No wonder you're hearing so much about microfiber cleaning cloths! They are amazing, simply amazing. They will change your life. Oops...am I going all informercial-ish again?

Without sounding like a cheesey salesperson, microfiber cloths really are a must-have for any cleaning kit. They eliminate the need for chemical cleaners. They clean dry (for dusting) or wet (for cleaning.) Plus, they last and last - and are an environmentally friendly option. For dusting - I find they really trap dust away, so you're not just moving the dust around, you're actually getting rid of the nasty stuff!

These cloths get glass, mirrors and other shiny surfaces clean without streaks. Use in conjunction with your Very Vinegar cleaner for those surfaces and you'll just love the results.

Hope this helps!
Christina

Shampoo Cleans WHAT?
Shampoo, bubble bath and/or body washes are my favorite bath, tub and tile cleaners! Squirt some on a cloth while you're in the shower and scrub away while your conditioner works on your hair. Do this everyday and you'll never need to specifically clean the tub and shower again! Plus, these smell gorgeous, far nicer than nasty chemical cleaners. Try it -- it even works to shine the faucets and shower heads!

A NEW Review of "The Happy Slob's Guide to Housecleaning":
by Anne F.

"I have found your guide wonderfully helpful!! If I could have emailed you during our trip, I would have. heh Thanks to you, we came back to a wonderfully clean home -- especially compared to before! My husband even commented that the home looks new!!! lol Getting a handle on the cleaning has helped me feel a lot better about things, improved my relationship with my husband -- and now we are even expecting baby #3! So it's quite something! I'm so glad to have discovered and ordered your book when I did, and not later.

Being pregnant now, I can even use your natural cleaning product ideas to clean bathrooms. I used to avoid the chemicals (leaving it to husband). Ha! So I know he appreciates your book too!! "

Dear Anne,

So glad to have been of assistance! :) And hey, if it helped you with baby #3 - well, there is just a new and unexpected benefit I had never anticipated! hehehe Thanks for such kind and wonderful words. Just remember to keep doing the 3 Step Solution, and not to overwhelm yourself, especially now that you're pregnant. I want you and the baby to stay happy, healthy and cozy in your "new" home.

Take care, Christina
