Not exactly a fun task at hand today - pretreating laundry stains. Why even bother to pretreat? With nasty laundry stains, pretreating them
will help make it easier for stains or overall grunge to really be removed.
One of the easiest ways to pretreat is to simply use the same liquid laundry detergent you'll be using in the washing machine, as a treatment
for stain removal. Dab some on and then let it sit for 15-20 minutes, but don't allow the detergent to fully dry. Even commercial pretreatment
stain removers (such as Spray 'n' Wash) says not to allow the product to dry first before laundering.
Or, if it's going to be a while before you can wash, you can let the clothes presoak in a tub or oversize bucket with some liquid laundry
detergent and some bleach or bleach alternative (such as vinegar or borax) and some cool water. Once you're ready, just wring those clothes out a bit and
throw them in the washer and wash as usual.
Especially for whites, a presoak like this once in a while can really help to restore the bright white color to items such as socks and t-shirts.
